  • Our first multisport event of 2018 …………… (27th Apr, 2018)

is on Sunday at Harrietsham  , The Duathlon has Sprint and Standard options and also welcomes relay teams – if you want to enter on the day just come along after 7am and register – we will have a good mornings racing – rain not arriving till later PM – ???

  • Yet another fantastic mornings racing at Lydd saw wins for …….. (11th Sep, 2017)

Joel Hodges in the mens category and Lilja Dottesmir  in the ladies .The 19 (yes – 19 !) competitors were greeted with a flat calm lake (water temp 17.5) , very fast flat bike course and an equally flat run course , chip timing for instant results and a fully signed and marshalled event .Add to that a full prize list with trophies for overall and age group winners and you can see why everyone there was just a little bit puzzled as to why ,with hundreds of triathletes not more than a hour away , they were so few ? As its our normal Bodiam date which sees around 300 compete every year it would have been reasonable to expect maybe 25% of that number to race at Lydd , I know that the scenery isn’t as good but its still a Triathlon !

Whats important though is that everyone there enjoyed the morning and just to cap it off we layed on a free BBQ/Drinks at the jetty to say thanks for supporting us – appreciated by all .

  • TONIGHT’s TRI at LYDD is CANCELLED (2nd Aug, 2017)

TONIGHT’s Evening TRI at LYDD is CANCELLED owing to strong winds and quite a lot of rain. Apologies. Rescheduled for NEXT WEDNESDAY, Aug 9th

  • A record 60 athletes took part in our first evening tri at Lydd with wins for Andrew Carson (15th Jun, 2017)

and Dawn Bartel , the weather was perfect with blue skies and sunshine ,  a light headwind on the return from Camber but it wasn’t without incident , Scott Wiseman was leading the bike and hoping to repeat his victory of last year when a 11 year old boy ran into his path without looking , both ended up sprawled in the road and an  ambulance was called , after checking over they were given the all clear  , our thanks go to Darren Hall and Andy Nicklin who stayed with Scott until he was ready to go and to Jay , our Camber marshall who brought Scott and his bike back to HQ . Roy Beeley had problems with a van making a 3 point turn in front of him (also in Camber) and one of our ladies was smacked by a passing motorist , quite deliberately , however she got his reg number and it will be reported to the Police for hopefully , prosecution .Other than that everyone seemed to enjoy a great evenings racing !

  • A brilliant day at Cranbrook saw wins for Rory Hopcraft , just holding off the fast improving (5th Jun, 2017)

after missing in 2015 due to the re-furbishment of the leisure centre swimming pool we looked forward to bringing back this tough yet popular sprint tri but have been informed by St Gregorys School (which hired us the tennis courts for transistion and importantly , the access to Reynolds Lane) , that their staff will no longer come in to open up on week-ends or bank holidays .We have searched the area for an alternative venue but nothing else can offer the same facilities .

October didn’t used to be part of the calendar but we have just experienced our 3rd year in a row of blue sky/sunshine/no wind (yes , you read that right , no wind on the Marshes ! ) , what brilliant racing conditions for everyone who took part .
