The charity that the event is supporting is for Prostate Cancer and i have pledged a minimum £500 . With the entry list that we now have the £500 has been raised and i will be adding the extra £3 for "on the day "entries (£15 ) to that sum .
The route map is now available , as you can see we dont travel far away from Staplehurst but the scenery will change consistantly from open countryside to woodland with main A roads and country lanes all featuring in the route .
The numbers on the map are all the major climbs , my version of a climb is where you either have to drop to the small ring or get out of the saddle , there may be one or two hills on the route where both are needed !
ON THE MAP
1 = Barn Hill at Hunton , a really nice smooth climb on good roads .
2 = Pixot Hill at Brenchley , begins quite early , levels out then kicks up for the last 400 mts .
3 = The 2007 TDF "King of the Mountains " points scorer , didnt trouble the pro's too much but its still a mile .
4 = Pluckley Hill , wasn't on my original route but we came so close i thought it a shame to leave it out .....
5 = The Col d'Ulcombe , 4 miles up , shallow at first then the last mile will test you , this is where you can win one of FOUR polka dot jerseys , one each for the quickest male/female and one each "for times closest to " times i have pre-selected .
