For the first time ever the historic city of Canterbury will host a leisure centre triathlon , based on the popular 400 m pool swim , a 20k bike leg and a final 5k run . The HQ will be the Kingsmead Leisure Centre in Kingsmead Road which will be open from 6am for registration and bike racking , the full facilities of changing , lockers and showers will all be available at no extra cost .The car park at the rear will be fully carpeted and will host the transistion area for up to 300 bikes . The swim will be "zig-zag" style in the 33m lanes of the pool , quite simply it will be split into 6 lanes and you will go up and down each lane , under the ropes to the next lane until 12 lengths have been completed . the bike course will go out towards Broad Oak and then on to Herne , West End and Thornden Wood and coming back in via Tylers Hill . The run course will take you out towards Broad Oak then turning right into Vauxhall Roads then right again into Sturry Road and back down to the Rbt before turning right again into Kingsmead Road , the final section will be along the river and over the bridge at the rear of the leisure centre . This race is suitable for all abilities wether its your 1st event or your 101st .
