Reading the feedback from last year many of you were quite happy with the Downs ( and the hills leading up to them ! ) but didnt want to use the pathway so much so i have revised the whole route , there is now a choice of two distances , 13 miles and 21 miles .
The 13 mile option will have only 5.4 miles of pathway but will climb up Steede Hill , travel across the downs and return to the pathway via Faversham Road then head back to the finish using Marley and Dickley Lanes and finally heading down Greenway Court Road which will take you back via Hollingbourne Village .
The 21 mile route is not for the faint-hearted ! It will follow the 13 mile route up to the Faversham Road/A20 junction but will then turn left and continue down towards Lenham before picking up last years route taking you up to the Downs via Hubbards Hill and returning to the A20 via Hart Hill . Less than half of this route is on the A20 pathway so the scenery will change constantly !
The venue again is the superb Ramada Hotel with all the facilites you could wish for , free parking , changing , showers , swimming , refreshments , its all there . The Air Cadets will again be manning the water stations every 3 miles and giving their support and marshalls will be placed on all major junctions . Mile markers will also be visible at every mile on both routes .
The start will again be "rolling " as we need to keep a steady flow of runners going down the A20 but you will be using chip timing for accurate and instant results .
So wether your training for London or now the new marathon addition at Brighton this is an excellent training opportunity , come and enjoy !
